Introduction
ProClarity's new release enhances the business intelligence features in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for a high-powered business intelligence solution. ProClarity Analytics 6 supercharges the Microsoft business intelligence (BI) platformmaking it easier than ever for IT to create a successful BI solution, and simpler than ever for decision makers to use it.

An expanded analytics footprint

  • Simplifies the complexity of the UDM: Microsoft's new Unified Dimensional Model (UDM) provides enhanced functionality and powerful new capabilities. With these improvements comes complexity. ProClarity Analytics 6 simplifies the complexity by making it a much more intuitive process by leveraging hierarchy, attribute and measure relationships to create analytic views. Context filters help keep analysis focused on pertinent information, and ProClarity's highly visual charts and graphics help users instantly understand key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Improves SQL Server's adaptability: ProClarity frees IT from being the sole group responsible for creating and maintaining KPIs. With ProClarity Analytics 6, any business user can do it.

  • Tight integration with Microsoft Reporting Services 2005

  • Simplifies reporting: With ProClarity, authors do not have to spend loads of time writing complex MDX scripts.
  • Links reports to analysis: By integrating Reporting Services reports into the ProClarity dashboard, ProClarity enables decision makers to monitor performance and access formatted reports for additional detail.

  • New versatile dashboard

  • Makes it easier to monitor the information you care about: Any user can easily build, tailor, maintain and update a dashboard using ProClarity's wizard-based interface-without waiting on IT to develop it.
  • Enables train-of-thought analysis: Instead of needing technical expertise-or IT-to perform data analysis, users can simply link from any spot on the dashboard into full-screen, guided ad hoc analysis.
  • Simplifies deployment and customization: Eliminating the need to install analytics software, ProClarity provides easy portal integration through URL addressability and completely thin, zero-footprint clients built on an open .NET architecture. All charts are optimized for Web deployments.

  • New versatile dashboard

Links scorecards to analytics: By adding powerful charts, visualizations and analysis tools, ProClarity takes your Microsoft scorecard initiative much further-with an easy-to-integrate, zero-footprint scorecard solution.

    Business Scorecard Manager 2005

    Introduction
Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005 is a new server-based business performance management scorecard application. Previously code-named "Maestro," the new application takes advantage of the power of the Microsoft Office System to help organizations perform deep analysis by allowing them to build, manage, and use scorecards and key performance indicators, all within an intuitive and collaborative environment.

Who is the target audience, or market, for Business Scorecard Manager 2005?
The target audience for Business Scorecard Manager 2005 is companies who want to gain better insight into the business and financial trends that impact their organization as well as companies that seek a better way to align objectives with employees daily activities and those that require business transparency for better regulatory compliance. Business Scorecard Manager 2005 is not just for enterprises, but also midsize companies.

    Gain complete insight in context
Business Scorecard Manager helps companies make sense of their business data by putting it in the context of KPIs. Users can gain deeper insight by combining Business Scorecard Manager's rich scorecarding functionality with reports, charting, graphs and analysis tools as well as unstructured data such as documents, spreadsheets and Web sites. In a scorecarding environment, companies need to be able to gain deeper insight into information on a KPI. For example, if a user clicks on a KPI titled "net revenue" that user could view a chart showing net revenue over time. He or she could also view a report that shows revenue by region and could view a PivotTable report that shows the underlying information that was aggregated into the KPI.

Collaborate on business management and action
Business Scorecard Manager provides a robust framework for interpreting and working with business information, allowing people to not only understand data in its appropriate context, but also more effectively collaborate on group analysis and take action to improve business performance. By using annotations, users can work together to provide more insight on a specific set of metrics. In addition, users can assign tasks specifically related to a KPI and/or a scorecard to the appropriate people. Users can also share scorecard data via e-mail.

    Achieve extensible functionality
Business Scorecard Manager offers a scalable platform that enables the customization that independent software vendors (ISVs) and systems integrators (SIs) need to extend its functionality or integrate scorecards into line-of-business applications or other custom applications. ISVs and SIs can extend Business Scorecard Manager by adding their SharePoint-based analysis tools as the insight tool for KPIs. ISVs have different types of data visualization and charts that can be put into the context of a scorecard.
